Safeguarding
Muallimah Institute is an institute for women. This policy covers every student, every teacher, and every member of staff, on the site, in the Sisters Lounge, and in any lesson or correspondence.
Every exchange is expected to be honest, restrained and courteous. Nothing that humiliates, intimidates, isolates or sexualises another person is tolerated, in public or in private. Do not ask a student for her address, her phone number, or a photograph of herself. Teachers do not meet students alone outside the programme.
Abuse, insults, mockery of a person's practice, sectarian attacks, sharing another sister's words or circumstances outside the board, financial solicitation, and any attempt to contact a student privately after she has asked you not to. Posts that break this are hidden, and accounts that repeat it are closed.
If something worries you, tell us. Write to safeguarding@muallimah.com with what happened, when, and who was involved. You can report a concern about yourself or about someone else, and you can ask to remain anonymous to everyone except the safeguarding lead.
Placeholder, to be confirmed by the Institute. The named safeguarding lead and her contact details will be published here. Until then, reports go to safeguarding@muallimah.com and are read by the Institute's directors only.
Reports reach the Institute. See our privacy policy for how we hold information.
